I wish and Odyssey 3B...

I made this scrap last night during the crop with Jennifer Layden at ES. No reason for making it other than the inspiration came to me while I was making it! LOL! These kids were just so great to teach and overall fabulous children! I miss them a lot. We even kept in contact by email a few months after I left and their emails were hilarious and cute! :) The journalling reads: Odyssey 3B: Being my most advanced class you were also oneof my favorites because you all had such uniquepersonalities. You were always so curious about me and "Chris teacher" and always asked what I did on the weekends, what I liked etc... You were all so eager to learn and always participated. On our last day together you told me not to turn around and look at the whiteboard, you were making me a "suprise." When I turned around I nearly cried, you wrote: ' I believe we can see teacher again, we love you, don't forget us!"I will never forget you, how could I? You were a highlight of my time in Korea.

Since Chris has been gone to Moncton I've been keeping myself busy, going to the library and getting movies and cds, doing some shopping (I bought the new Scrapbook Answers Magazine which came with a fabulous cd of fonts and other cool things!) and taking some pics with the camera, but I've missed him! :( He'll be home tonight and I'm excited to see him again!

I made this scrap on Monday night for a challenge on Digital Freebies. It's all about what I wish for my boyfriend Chris! :) The journaling reads: I wish...that you will always keep you playful personality, that you will find fulfillment in all that you do, and that you will always remember that.......I LOVE YOU with all my heart!

Today the plans are to try and get my last pay from the store I worked at, they were supposed to have them their yesterday but didn't not! GRRR! Send out student loan relief papers, do some laundry and pick up some ingredients for tacos tonight! YUM!

I hope everyone has a great day! And thanks for reading! :)

Royal Beach

I made this scrap today. It was quick and frustration free! Just need some of those once in a while, don't ya think?! LOL! This is a quick page courtesy of Lynn Grieveson. Credits can be found if you click here . :D

This pic was taken when Chris and I were visiting my parents in the UAE in October. We had take a little trip on the weekend to go to a lovely Beach Resort. It was the most beautiful place by the beach we'd ever stayed in! :o Here Chris is testing the waters of the Gulf of Oman and in the distance you can see quite a big Island or something to that effect! lol! We tried to get a boat to go out to it and go scuba diving, but couldn't cause it was quite a popular activity that everything was booked! Instead we occupied ourselves with swimming, lounging in the sun, eating and exploring some other sights! :)

Today was a good day except for the yucky rain again! :( I played around with my new camera. Just trying to get a feel for the different functions etc...a bit of cleaning, some French practicing, and then a yummy supper of Clubs, potatoes, and cesear salad - a la boyfriend! LOL! :) Oh and a yummy tropical smoothie for dessert! :D

Chris is going to be going away tomorrow night, home to Moncton, for his post op checkup, see the family, and to do a little golfing with his Dad. I won't see him until Wed. night! :o It's going to be a bit weird to sleep alone and not have his company, but I'll be ok. My brother will be around, so I'll have him to bug and talk to! LOL!

Well, that's it for now!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and have a lovely night! :)

My Friend Monica

Oh my!!! Blogger you drive me batty!!! :o I tried to post this entry yesterday and totally thought I had lost it! Then I see today that it was saved as a draft??!!! I don't know if I did that but thank goodness it's here cause I typed a lot of stuff that I really didn't want to type again! Eek!

So, Thursday was my friend Monica's (of 9 years) birthday and I just had to make this scrap for her! She's such a wonderful person and I wanted her to know just how special she is to me! :) For credits please click here .

Wednesday night my parents arrived and it was sooo nice to see them again! We got to talk a lot and I also got to see my Aunt and Grandma! It's been years since I've seen them, I can't even remember when the last time was! :o My Grandma's not doing too good though...she's just getting old. :( She'll be 92 soon! Wow! So, we ordered pizza with my folks, watched some CSI and had fun in each other's company! lol! My Mom also brought me some amazing teaching resources from her year teaching grade 5! I am sooo lucky and I don't think I'll be needing to buy too much stuff to decorate my classroom whenever thay may be! :D My Mom won't be teaching that age again...just too old for it now and wants to move on. She'll be teaching English As a Second Language in the fall. I'm sure she'll do wonderful at it!

My parents didn't stay with us long though :( they had to get going in the morning to make the five hour trip to Cape Breton to my Grandma's house. But, I'll be seeing them again in a week! Yay! They'll be driving me down to my French Immersion course in July.

Other than that, yesterday we went downtown to a bunch of used bookstores to look for books for Chris' courses in Sept. and I bought some guitar strings, a tuner and some picks to make the trade with my brother for my electric guitar for his Canon Powershot! Yippee!! A new camera!! This is sooo exciting cause our OLD Fuji Finepix was just getting bad! :o Can't wait to read the manual for it and start experimenting! lol!

Today we went out for brunch at a greasy pub and it was raining buckets!! We got a little soaked but the food was pretty decent! :) We also rented Spiderman 2 which we'd seen already, but loved the first time, so had to see it again! Other than that it's been a lazy day. I called my job at the store to see if I have any shifts this week and suprise, I don't! GRR! I am not pleased and feel that the boss acted quite juvenile about me giving my two weeks notice! I shouldn't even have given my notice...maybe I'd still have some shifts! :o Anyway....

Tomorrow I'll probally do some scrapping cause Chris works and that's a good time to get it done so I don't bother him and his computer time! :) Hmmm wonder what I should scrap....lol

If you got it this far thanks so much for reading and I'm sorry for babbling! LOL! :o

Night for now! :)

Kuala Lumpur

Well, I made my first 2 page Layout today and this is what I came up with! :) I made it for a challenge at the Digi Chicks on a summer vacation that we've had. Chris and I went to Kuala Lumpur on a whirlwind trip while we were teaching in Korea. I normally don't like to put so many pics on one page, but I just couldn't leave any of them out! They all played a big part in our trip and hold so many awesome memories!

The journaling reads: "We went on our vacation to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia during out vacation in August 2005. We only had 3 days and four nights there, so we triedto experience as much ds we could while there. It was an amazing trip! Malaysia seems likesuch a culturally diverse and beautiful country. We hope to go back there one day because there is so much more we want to see and experience."

I had a pretty good day today! It took me forever though to do these scraps as PSP was being a pain and closing on me! :o Luckily I've learned to save it every 5 mins or I would have lost everything! Ack! But, my fonts were also going wiggy and I lost two of them after I had already typed out everything. GRR! So I had to find new fonts and do it all over again! Luckily it worked but my morning was kinda wasted on that!
This afternoon though, I was more productive. I studied some French and cleaned the bathroom! Yay! I have exciting news too!! My parents are arriving from Abu Dhabi tomorrow ngiht! And they will be staying with us for the night! It's going to be soo great to see them again, it's been since November! :( They plan on staying in Canada for the summer visiting relatives and such and then they'll be going back to the Middle East, but this time to a new location Doha, Qatar! My Mom was given an excellent offer there for a job so they're on a new adventure! Maybe that means Chris and I will be visiting a new place too in a few years! Yay! LOL! :)
Well that's it for now. Tomorrow there's more cleaning for me and studying!
Night all! :)

My Fave Place and My Heroes

This first scrap I did today. It was a riot to do! LOL! It was for a chat last night on Elemental Scraps called SNL and we had to scrap our favorite room. It is of course my boyfriend and I's bedroom! It has centers, haha! :)

(Credits to: Chaunta kit by Lauren Grier: http://www.elementalscraps.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=201Laura's Shabby Arrows.Doodle frame from Tia Bennett's new Growth kit.Font Pea cammi-pea by Fonts for Peas.)

This scrap I made yesterday for a Crop challenge at Elemental Scraps. I thought sooo long and hard about who to do for this and I just couldn't not do it about my parents! :)

The journaling reads: When you told me that you were moving to foreign country that I had never even heard of before and that you were selling everything precious to you: I thought that you had both gone crazy! Now that you have been there for almost five years and I have seen all that you have accomplished and have recongnized how brave you are for taking such a risk; I want you to know that you inspire me to take risks in my life and live life the the fullest. You are truly my "heroes"!

Other than that...my day went well. I sent off my LO to my Dad for Father's Day and hopefully he'll like it! :) I worked and it was steady, so the day went by fast! Tomorrow I have off so I'm hoping to study some French, scrap, shop for groceries, pick up a book at the library that's on hold ( a book about digiscrapping, lol!), and send off some important papers in the mail! A busy day! Hopefully I can try and get most of those done!

Good night!

Peeved...

Well, I've been working at a store to make some money before I go away for my French Immersion course this summer and I gave my two weeks notice to the boss last night. She seemed fine with it, kept saying ok, ok, no problem and after the call I thought to myself, "Phew! that went well!" Maybe it seemed a little too easy cause when I went into work today the boss calls in with the new schedule and lo and behold I have NO (Zero) shifts next week! :o I go from five part time shifts this week, to none, next week???!! What is with that??? I must ask, how professional is that? At least I had the courtesy to give my damn 2 weeks! GRRR! I don't enjoy this job by any stretch of the imagination, but I was depending on this income, I need it for when I go away in July. Nice eh?! Hopefully the daycare that I have subbed at will need someone this week, I so hope so! Please everyone cross your fingers for me!

I'll post tomorrow with a cheerier post and my new LO, I promise! :)

A long day...

Left the apartment for my appointment today at 12 and didn't get home until 5pm! :o The bus rides were not fun, long and too many transfers! At least it's over with right?! LOL! So the doctor did find problems. I have to go back in a month for the results. I really hope it is nothing serious and that it does go away... I'm going to try and not think about it too much or worry. I guess whatever happens, happens right?! Other than that I just took it easy tonight. Chris made me a wonderful supper of salmon, veggies and mashed potatoes, delicious!! :)

No scrapping today and I'm not sure if I'll get any done in the next few days...I have to work for the next two days. Chris and I are going to see the movie Cars tomorrow night which is exciting! Then on Friday we're going to go downtown and to the mall for some summer clothes. :D Hopefully the weekend, cause I can't go too long without my scrapping! :o

Night, for now!

Here's the scrap in a better view! Blogger was being difficult last night! :o

GUESS WHAT.......???!!!!

http://www.elementalscraps.com/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=3176

Well, I scrapped this lovely LO today in honor of my friend Paula's beautiful daughter Lydia! It was for a themed crop the other night and since I don't have children of my own yet, Paula let me borrow her's just for the scrap though, not forever LOL! :)

The journaling along the sides reads: "These may not be your very first steps, but I think they are pretty close to it! I can't wait until I see you again because I can't wait until I can play the walking game with you! My kindy kids love it so much! It goes like this: walking, walking, walking, walking, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, hop, running, running, running, running, running, running...now let's stop, now let's stop! And REPEAT! I hope you love it Lydia cause I love you!"

In other interesting news.................as I was walking to work today who should I happen to meet???? None other than....JACK LAYTON!!! :O It was weird and also pretty cool at the same time! It's the first time I've ever met anyone well known in the public/media etc... a leader of an political party!! Wow! He should my hand, asked my name and told me what they were going to do for NS...I can't remember though what exactly it was he told me though (embarassed!) cause I was a bit awestruck! LOL! I'm a dork I know!

Anyway, tomorrow is my dreaded but needed appointment with the doctor. Please think good vibes/thoughts for me that everything goes well! I also have to take the bus there...all the way to Dartmouth (gasp!) and I've never been, here's an adventure...ack!

Night all! :)

Well...I'm feeling a bit buzzed...LOL!! After only one Strongbow (cider) and being a little sleepy! Today was a good day! I scrapped an LO for a challenge at the Digi Chick/Father's Day! It was an emotional scrap and I'm sooo glad I did it cause it so came from the heart and should have been done a long long time ago.

This is my Step-Dad Mike. He married my Mom when I was six and accepted my brother and I as his own kids. And I have another brother too from their marriage! :) Mike and I always used to butt heads when I was younger, I was a self absorbed teen and he always liked things his way. After I moved out and went to school things started to change. For the better in some ways I think! Even after all these years, I don't know why, but I've never been able to call him Dad, I've just always called him Mike! He is my Dad for sure cause I've never really know my bio dad.

Anyway, sorry for rambling but the journaling on my layout says: "I know that in my younger years we didn't always get along, but things seem to have changed in the past few years. I am so happy that it has! And even though I still do not call you 'Dad', you are my Dad, and always will be! I love you!"

(Credit is due to all these fab. ladies: The kit I used is Lauren Grier's 'Intensity-B&W Add On'.The overlay is NRG's Freebie 'Inked Edges'The color pattern I used in the words Happy Father's Day is from Zazou's red page from her 'Avec Amour' kit. )

Thanks for looking and now tis time for bed!! See you tomorrow! :)

The layout for today....

I think this scrap is my favorite to date. I just love everything about it! The pic is adorable! The colors stand out so well against the background and the elements were just so fun to play with! I hope that I can make more in this kind of style in the future. :)

This class was one of my faves while I taught in Korea. They were a very low level class, but just has SO much enthusiasm to learn English! You can even tell just by looking at the pic! Especially silly Tony in the front! What a character! I miss them all so much in their own special ways!

This is the scrap that I made yesterday for my wonderful boyfriend Chris. This picture was taken after we had only been in Korea for less than a month. This beautiful beach is called Haeundae beach and it was about a 45 min ride on the subway from our apartment. I made this scrap for a challenge that Paula had posted at another site. It was super fun to play with the buttons! Credits: The kit is For My Father by Miss Mint. Buttons by Lisa Whitney. Flower doodle by Lauren Miller, and Love heart by Angie Briggs. :)

Well, here's my newest scrap, made today! :) This was made for a challenge on the website www.thedigichick.com and I really enjoyed doing it! I always love scrapping about my time in Korea, I miss it there so much! Credits are definitely due to many wonderful ladies for allowing the scrap to happen! LOL! The kit I used to make this is called 'Dinner Party' by Shabby Princess. The notebook paper is from Tia Bennett's 'New Growth' kit. And last but certainly not least, the Digital Sketch I used is by Jen Caputo(http://jencaputo.typepad.com)! :)

Oh and the journaling under the pic reads: "My boyfriend Chris and I lived here for a year teaching English. It is a beautiful country full of temples, nature, and bustling city life. The flight to Seoul took almost 22 hours from Canada (not too fun!) and the money used is the Korean Won. While there we picked up some Korean, but not as much as we should have. We hope to go back someday and we'll try harder to learn the language. We miss Korea so much!"

Stay tuned for tomorrow when I'll post some more of my scraps, some oldies but goodies!! :)

Blogger is slow and annoying sometimes!!!

I just tried to post my latest scrap with a description and then tried to save it so it wouldn't be lost if it didn't work and what happened????!!! The dang thing does work!! Error on the page and all my stuff gone. I even tried to copy and paste what I had wrote but it wouldn't let me....GRRR! I'll be back later to try again.

Some of my recent scraps!

Well here I am, I've become addicted to digi scrapping and I totally have my good friend Paula to thank for it!! :) At first I was apprehensive about it, didn't think I could do it (too hard!) and maybe just a little lazy! LOL! Now there's no turning back! :o I've finally found my hobby, something I LOVE to do and think I'm halfway good at! I haven't had something like this in awhile so it's gonna stick! LOL! :)

Well, I was going to try and post some of my scraps...but blogger is being all weird and won't let me. Stay tuned tomorrow! I'll try and have them up then! :)
